Help out a neighbor or friend that has trouble doing their yard work - Rake their leaves.  It is great exercise for you and  your friend or neighbor will surely appreciate it.

Keep track of your friends' birthdays and wish them a Happy Birthday.  Everyone likes to have their special day remembered.      

Put out the trash

If you have a neighbor that may have trouble wheeling around their garbage can - offer to put it out for them on garbage day.

• The brave people, firefighters, policemen and civillians, that ran INTO the buildings to try to save others and lost their lives.

• The silence around airports and the empty skies in the days following the attacks.

• The horrible feeling of knowing that our country had been attacked and the fierce resolve that those who did this would not get away with it.

If someone wants to pick up the tab for lunch or do some other nice thing for you, just say Thank You.
They wouln't offer if they didn't want to do it and your "1 Little Thing" is to graciously accept the offering.

Water the Plants

Offer to water your neighbor's plants if they are going out of town.  It is relaxing for you and your neighbor  won't come home to dead plants.

Feed the Dog (or Cat)

If your neighbor has to go away for a few days, offer to feed and water his or her pet.  It doesn't take long  and it isn't dificult, but it will make your neighbor's trip much more relaxed knowing you are taking care of Rover or Fluffy.

Pick Up a Dozen Eggs

Next time you have to go to the grocery store, ask a neighbor if there is anything you can pick up for them.  What a treat to NOT have to run out for a quart of milk or a loaf of bread! Who knows, they may return the favor the next time they go to the store.

Do a Chore

Once in a while, without fanfare, do a chore that is normally performed by someone else in your household.  Imagine their delight to have that little bit of extra time to do something else or sit and have a cup of coffee.

Clean out your closet and give your unneeded items to charity.

Pray for Japan

One month ago today Japan was hit with a monster Earthquake followed by an incredibly destructive Tunami. During the intervening month they have had to deal with unstable nuclear plants and earthquake aftershocks.  The death toll has become unthinkably high and rises daily still. 

These brave people need our prayers and our monetary help.

 Offer to weed a friend's yard or flower bed. It is good exercise for you, will make the neighborhood look better and you will earn the graditude of your friend.

Encourage someone

If someone you know is trying something new give them the gift of encouraging words.  Let them know that you believe in them and that you are proud of their efforts.  This simple effort on your part could be the difference between success and failure.
