Give a flower to a friend.

It doesn’t have to be from a florist. It doesn’t have to be from the local supermarket. Pick a flower from your yard, alongside the road or from a friend’s yard (with permission, of course). Present it in a beautiful vase or in a water bottle. It’ll make you feel good & your friend’s day will be brighter.

Surprise a waiter or waitress.

If you can afford it and you really like a server, occasionally leave an extraordinary tip. Even a couple of bucks more than normal will make their day.

Give up your seat on public transit.

If you see someone standing that looks particularly tired or carrying a lot of bags, give up your seat for them. Your feet may be tired when you get home, but your heart will be light.

Compliment someone.

It really doesn’t matter what you compliment them about – what matters is you took the time to notice something special about the person.

Let someone go ahead of you at the check-out counter.

When you see someone with just a couple of items waiting behind you in the check-out line at the store offer to let them go first. This may add a couple of minutes to your wait, but will brighten that person's day considerably. Guaranteed!
