Trees are beautiful to look at, give shade on a sunny day, shelter on a rainy day and a backrest when you want to sit down.  Planting and nurturing a tree now will give joy to generations.

Take a dog for a walk

Many dog shelters need volunteers to give their dogs a daily walk.  Some elderly or handicapped folks are not able to walk their dogs.  Check with your local ASPCA or Humane Society to see where your services could be put to use.  The Dog owners will be grateful, the dogs will be happy and as an added benefit it is a healthy activity for you!

Listen to a story (even if you have heard it before).

Sometimes you need to grit your teeth and listen to a story you’ve heard before (even MANY times). Act as though it is the first time you have heard it. It is a kindness the storyteller will never know about, but usually one you won’t regret.
